Larry Beard Obituary
He was born in McAdenville, N.C., and was the son of the late Hubert and Helen Tanner.
Larry loved fishing, hunting and especially gardening. He enjoyed watching boxing. Larry loved spending time with his family.
He retired from Snap-on Tools.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Martin Beard; two brothers, Samuel Tanner Sr. and Wyman Beard; and one sister, Donnie Derreberry.
He is survived by his children, Larry Dean Beard Jr. (Susie) of Andrews, Anthony Ray Beard (Stacy) of Andrews, Teresa McArn (Bryan) of Andrews, and Helen Elaine Hill of Marble; two brothers, Russell Tanner of Dallas, N.C., and Charles "Pete" Tanner of Murphy; sister-in-law, Linda Tanner of Gastonia, N.C.; brother-in-law, Larry Derreberry; 14 grandchildren, Josh Holloway, Matthew, Brittany and Katelyn Creasman, Jordan and Tyler West, Larissa Lance, Ian and Waylon Curtis, Alicia Farley, Steven and Sasha Guffey, Logan Beard and Alexa Oath; many great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
No services are planned.
