Larry "Peanut" Blanchard

With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, I am announcing the passing of Larry, aka Peanut Blanchard, who left us on Thursday, February 27,2025 at the age of 61. He is preceded in death by his Father, Henry G Blanchard Jr, and mother Jeanette Henderson Blanchard. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, humor, and love, he shared with those around him.
Peanut was born April 6, 1963 in Pender County (Burgaw) North Carolina. He grew up with a passion for cars, electronics, and technology. Once computers and the Internet entered the scene, it became a deep, loving passion. He was a mechanic for 40 years, as well as a state inspector. He was known for his wit, jokes, prankster behavior, and ability to fix pretty much anything mechanical or related to computers. His presence brought warmth and laughter to everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Although his journey ended too soon, his memory will live in the hearts of those who love him. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathleen Blanchard, his son Michael R Blanchard of Virginia Beach, Ashley M Blanchard of Virginia Beach, Alanna L Blanchard of Norfolk, and step children, Tony Wonchoba of Norfolk, Rebecca Rowe of Newport News, and Michael Hodge of Norfolk. Peanut's siblings that he leaves behind are Judy Miller of Maryland, and Steve Wiley of NJ. He also leaves behind several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Not to be forgotten are his beloved pets, especially his favorite cat Harley who just waited for him to come home everyday, as well as Gracie, Maggie, Jack and Zorro.
