Larry E. Carter went to his eternal home on October 24, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 7, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio and just celebrated his 70th birthday. Larry was a dedicated man of God and loved his Genoa Baptist Church. He worked for 43 years as a machine assembler for Nourse Dairy Systems. The love of his life was music, followed by his love of hunting and fishing. He did his own karaoke shows for many years and sang from age 16 to 50. He loved most music - especially country, rock and roll and bluegrass. Sang a lot of John Anderson songs. Loved to Jam with friends playing bluegrass. Avid hunter and fisherman. Loved the outdoors and all the nature that went with it. He loved to tinker with things and use his hands to build things.. Larry touched so many lives over the years of his career with his music. His karaoke fans lovingly called him Larry Whooo--. The smile and twinkle in his eyes that always left their mark. He loved to entertain people and make them happy. His leaving has left a hole in many hearts that can never be filled and he leaves behind a spirit that will live on forever. The songs Larry would sing to Marlene and the winks he gave --cherished forever. The culminative of love is grief. And yet we love despite the inevitable, we open our hearts to it. To grieve deeply is to have loved fully. Those we love didn't go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.

I knew the Carters vaguely, through Lenny & Karen Higgins (lifelong friends due to employment with Staples (26 years now) and involvement with my father in bicycle business). Larry attended the Indy 500 with us in 2007 & 2008. 43 years of employment with one company is quite a remarkable achievement. I didn't know that Jo Ann was Larry's sister despite the common last name. I worked with Jo Ann at Mr. T's Pizza in 1993, where Jeff was the manager and Jim was the owner. So it's a small world no matter where you go. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.
