Larry Chapman, 58, of Baytown passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July, 15 2012. Larry was born on June 29, 1954 in Baytown, TX. After graduating from Robert E. Lee in 1972, Larry worked for U.S. Steel. In his early thirties, Larry moved to Las Vegas and then to California, where he would live for the next twenty years. In 2009 Larry moved back to Baytown and he worked as a construction worker. Larry was a huge sports fan, he especially routed for the Astros, the Oilers, and the Tennessee Titans. Larry's love of sports was only surpassed by his love of hiking. Larry enjoyed hiking in the mountains of California and Nevada. He even hiked to the top of Mount Whitney. Larry treasured his family, and he will be sorely missed. Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Chapman, and his step-father, Edward Utz. Larry is survived by his mother, Annie Utz of Canyon Lake, CA, his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Mike Kopp of Canyon Lake, CA, nieces; Britni Kopp of Denver, CO, and Jessica Kopp of Canyon Lake, CA, and his nephew, Brendan Chapman of Laduc, Alberta. The family is honoring Larry's wishes that he be cremated. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521 (281) 422-8111.
