Larry James Chesnut, age 81, of Pansey, AL, passed away Saturday evening, May 31, 2025 at Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan, AL.
The family will hold a private graveside service.
Mr. Chesnut was born on July 26, 1943 in Dothan, AL to James Willis Chesnut and Mildred Mozelle Merritt Chesnut. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Chesnut served his country as a Nuclear professional, building and maintaining nuclear power plants to deliver clean energy as part of our national energy security.
He is survived by his children, James Larry Chesnut (Doris), Tony Michael Chesnut (Teresa), and Pamela Michaele Hostinsky (Ron); his grandchildren, James Larry Chesnut, Jr., Joshua General Chesnut (Kristen), Adam James Hostinsky (Kaitlin), Kevin Christopher Hostinsky and Whitney LaFaye Wilson (Eric); his great grandchildren, Aiden Matthew Wilson, Adelynn LaFaye Wilson, Asher Tony Wilson, Saylor Renee Hostinsky, and Emma Grace Hostinsky; his siblings, Terry Chesnut (Dina Joy), Nina Jo Horn (Gene), and Walter Charles Chesnut (Shirley).
Mr. Chesnut preceded in death by his parents, James Willis Chesnut and Mildred Mozelle Merritt Chesnut; and his wife, Emma LaFaye Cannon Chesnut.
In lieu of flowers the family ask memorial contributions be made to Springfield Baptist Church 6677 Hwy 39 Jakin, GA 39861
