Larry Gene Conklin, age 78, of Pelican Rapids, passed away at his home on July 31, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 26, 1947, to the late Ervin and Alma (Carlson) Conklin in Minot, ND.
Larry grew up in Garrison, ND. Where he attended Garrison High School and the University of North Dakota where he earned a business degree. Larry was drafted into the US Army, where he proudly served his country during the Korean DMZ Conflict. He married Barbara (Israelson) on August 28, 1976, and together they raised two sons.
Larry worked for the United States Postal Service for many years. He lived an active life and enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, gardening, and going for drives. Larry was also an avid fan of the Bisons, Vikings, and Twins.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barb; sons, Quentin (Kathy) and Luke (Tracy); grandchildren, Tyler (Erica Vaiser), Bryce (Brandi), and Bram (Hailey Kremer); two great granddaughters, Scarlett and Isla; sister, Joan (Ken) Haakenstad; and Hailey’s children, Ashton and Oakley.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert.
