Larry Cutts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Overton Funeral Home - Indianola on Nov. 26, 2024.
A Memorial Mass for Larry Joe Cutts, 88, of Indianola, Iowa, who passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024, will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Larry was supervisor of buildings and grounds at Simpson college for 36 years retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola. Larry enjoyed being a little league coach and cub scout leader with his sons, but his greatest joy was fishing with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In retirement, he could always be found with his retired fishing buddies sneaking off from mom. Larry was a master of many trades, always wanting to fix things and help others out. Most of all Larry was a humble man who always was there for anyone that needed help. His family faith and friends were always a priority. Larry touched many lives that we never knew about, we know this from random people stopping us on the street saying Larry influenced them in a great way.
Larry is survived by his wife, Geri Cutts; children, Teri (Joe) Diaz, Doug (Ann) Cutts, Craig Cutts and Matt Cutts; grandchildren, Andrea (Andrew) Petrovich, Anthony (Whitney) Diaz, Aaron (Tasha Voelker) Diaz, Samantha Cutts, Katie (Austin) Willis and Gracie (Noah Schrad) Cutts; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Alphonse, Louie, Sylvie, Rosie, Margo and Claire; and siblings, Dan (Tina) Cutts and Ken (Patty) Cutts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Helen Cutts; siblings, Jack Cutts, Bob Cutts, Mary Helen Nupp and Tom Cutts.
Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Overton Funeral Home, where a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Larry may be given to John Stoddard Cancer Center or Iowa Lung Association.
