Larry R. Dague

Larry Ross "Bumper" Dague, 83, of Downingtown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Annette Andrien Dague, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Born on March 12, 1942, he was raised in Downingtown by his parents, the late J. Ross Dague and Helen Barnes Dague.

In addition to his wife, Bumper is survived by his three children, Phil Dague (Francine), Jeffrey Dague (Chris) and Laura Britt (Scott); his sister, Patricia Price; seven grandchildren, Michael, Matthew (Kat), Ben (Saki), Brandon (Ashley) and Christopher Dague, Drew (Justine) and Chad Britt; and by his great grandson, Dawson Britt.

Bumper graduated from Downingtown High School in 1960. He attended Drexel University. He worked various jobs while attending school, such as Pepperidge Farms and the Downingtown Paper Company. He started his professional career as an Accounting Manager with Brown Brothers – Downingtown which became International Mill Service and relocated to Philadelphia. He worked for International Mill Service for 38 years, of which he commuted to the city by train for over 25 years.

Bumper formed many friendships in his school years that lasted through his lifetime, as well as making many more friends throughout his life, all of which he greatly valued. He learned to play golf just to be able to hang out with his friends who played golf, but he grew to really love the sport. He loved to play cards with his friends a few times a week. Bumper was an avid reader and loved old movies starring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Also, he absolutely would not miss watching Jeopardy every weeknight. Bumper loved to travel with his wife, along with family and friends. In addition to the numerous National Parks visited within the United States, they traveled to many places outside the U.S. such as Iceland, Ireland, the Galapagos Islands and many more, but his favorite was Alaska which they traveled to many times. The thing that Bumper loved the most was spending time with his family, especially his seven grandsons. He loved being "Grandpop" and attending his grandsons' events. He was thrilled in 2024 when he became Great-Grandpop for the first time.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. Family and friends will be received from 9:30-10:45 am followed by a memorial service at 11 am.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Lord's Pantry of Downingtown or the Downingtown Public Library.
