Larry Davis

SCHUYLER LAKE-Larry Alan Davis, age 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 17, 2022 in his home after an extended illness. He was born on April 12, 1953, in Cooperstown, son of the late Truman and Ida Curry Davis. Larry was raised in Schuyler Lake and was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. Upon completing high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force.
On October 20, 1973, he was united in marriage to the former Dana Denese Kugler at Saint Timothy's Lutheran Church in North Highlands, California. They returned to Schuyler Lake in 1975 and have resided there since. In 1975, Mr. Davis first went to work for the Remington Arms Company in Ilion. He later went to work for Bassett Medical Center in 1991 where he was a Phlebotomist. He retired in 2015 after twenty-four years of dedicated service. For forty-seven years he was a member of the Schuyler Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
To those who knew Larry they will never forget a gentle, patient and kind man who liked helping others. In his leisure time he loved the out of doors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and going camping in the Adirondacks, especially at Indian Lake. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and family.
Surviving are his devoted wife of forty-nine years, Dana, a brother Tyson Davis and his wife Abbey of Schuyler Lake a sister, Cynthia Brophy of Scarborough, MA, a sister-in-law Linda T. Davis of Oneonta, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Glen Davis.
The family will be present in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home to receive friends and relative on Thursday, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.
