Larry Davis Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 19, 2025.
Larry Eugene Davis went peacefully to his Lord and Savior on August 11, 2025. He was born on February 22, 1946, to parents Leroy McGuire and Wanda Greeson McGuire. After Ralph and Wanda got married, they adopted Larry. He attended elementary school in Sapulpa and graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1964. Larry was proud to be a lifelong resident of Sapulpa.
He met and married the love of his life, Sharen Kay Boren, on August 23, 1968. He was then drafted into the Army while Sharen was pregnant and unfortunately missed the birth of their daughter Carol in 1969. Byron, their son, was born in 1972.
Larry taught for the Sapulpa School system for 28 years before retiring in 1999. After retirement, he still stayed active by substituting at some of the elementary schools in town. He was especially fond of Holmes Park and never missed a Veteran's Day Program. Larry was a devout man of God and was ordained as a Southern Baptist in 1968. He loved working with children and youth, spending many summers as a counselor at Camp Lela and Falls Creek.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Wanda Davis, and Leroy McGuire, brothers Sammy and Mike Davis, sister Michelle Makin, brothers-in-law Clarence Boren, Bobby Boren, and Scotty Boren, and sister-in-law Georgia Ann Boren.
Larry leaves behind his wife of almost 57 years Sharen, their children and spouses Carol and Mike Keith and Byron and Naomi Davis, grandchildren Jade Young, Faith Young, Andrew Aguado, Yasmine Aguado, and Evan Davis, great grandchildren Hadley Ellison, Cooper Ellison, and Oakley Moses, sisters and their spouses Suzy and Todd Harris, Wendy Preston, Tracy and Ray Kallatsa, and Kathy Benzi, brother and sisters-in-law Charles and Linda Boren, JoAnn Boren, and Yolanda Ann Boren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
