Larry Gene Dockins

TORRINGTON, Wyoming --- Larry Gene Dockins, 83, gained his angel wings Tuesday, January 4, 2023, at the Torrington Community Hospital, surrounded by his family. A memorial service, with full military honors, will be held Tuesday, January 10, at the Lifeway church in Torrington with Pastor Marty Rostad officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Larry was born April 17, 1939, in Adam, Kansas the son of Almos and June (Miller) Dockins.
He was married to his loving wife, Carolyn (Smith), for 42yrs. The couple resided in Torrington where they shared the joy of their grandkids and great grandkids.
Larry entered the military life in 1962 and retired as a Sargent Major after 28yrs with the Army National Guard.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, fishing, drinking coffee and playing poker.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn Dockins of Torrington; sons, Kenneth (Rosie) Dockins of Warden WA, Robert (Sandra) Dockins of Cheyenne, WY and Russell (Bobbi) Dockins of Torrington; daughters, Kimberly (Donald) Nash of Torrington, Mary Kinsel of Henderson NV, and Angie Edmunds of Henderson NV; brother Warren (Kathy) Dockins of Nevada and sister
Jeanine Cheesebrew of Kentucky; 17 grandkids and 20 great-grandkids.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Phyllis Choate and Shery Dockins; son Scott Greathouse and grandson Kolten Aberle.
