Larry Wayne Everette, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 76, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital. Larry's life will be celebrated during a visitation on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Both events will be held at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Cox, Brian Belote, Allan King, Mike Jefferson, Ronnie Warren, and Ron Hodges.
Larry was born in
Washington, NC on March 20, 1949, to the late Woodrow and Annie Mercer Everette. He began his career as a mechanic working for Everette Truck Line, a family business that was based out of
Washington, NC and was started by his father. His passion for working on 18 wheelers led him to become a truck driver, then helped manage the family business, showcasing his commitment and love for the open road. Even after retirement, Larry continued to help others work on 18 wheelers.
Beyond his professional life, Larry enjoyed a variety of interests that filled his days with joy and fulfillment. He was thankful for all God had given him and he loved being a gift-giver to others. He loved to spend time with friends. He was very competitive and would always challenge his friends in bowling, pool, and throwing horseshoes. He had a green thumb, and gardening was one of his favorite pastimes. Larry also had a deep appreciation for music and dancing, which brought much happiness to his life. An enthusiast of motorcycles, he often took to the open roads, embracing the sense of freedom they provided. Larry was an avid dog lover, particularly fond of Labradors, who were his loyal companions over the years.
Larry is preceded in death by his brother, Steve Everette and his brother in-law, Cecil Bradley. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: sister Carol (John) Hartman and Rita Bradley, sister-in-law Pam Everette; his significant other, Rebecca "Becky" Franklin; daughters Heather (Parks) Moss and Denise Everette; sons Woody Everette and Tanner (Michaela) Stephens; grandchildren Walt Radcliff, Mary Parker Moss, Matthew (Danielle) Francis, Nechelle Everette (DK), Kyra Everette, Courtney Everette, and Logan Everette; step-grandchild Aubrey Moss; great-grandchildren Riley and Scarlett Francis; nephews Todd Everette and Greg Everette; nieces Annie Beth Donahue and Laura Rose Dermid, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Larry Wayne Everette will be remembered for his warmth, his contagious smile, his boisterous personality, his love for working on and fixing trucks, and the vibrant spirit with which he embraced life. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
