Larry Fasbender Obituary
Larry J. Fasbender, a lifelong resident of Goddard, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, at the age of 61. Born to Raymond and Edna (Schulte) Fasbender on May 25, 1963, in Wichita, Larry lived a full life characterized by his dedication to his family and community, his love for the outdoors, and a work ethic and perseverance that was unmatched.
Larry is preceded in death by his loving parents; his brother, Gerald; his sister, Linda Diane; and brother-in-law, Charlie Zenner. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his beloved wife, Dawn; and children, Sarah (Andrew) Simon, Megan (Adam) Hardie, Cody (Cassie) Fasbender, Joe, Elaine, and Carson; his step-children, Vanessa (Nicholas) Bell, Noel (Jeffrey) Buller, and Edward (Bethany) Bastian, who will be forever thankful for his impact on their lives. Larry is also survived by his sisters, Ginny (Mike) Bosley, Rita Stewart, Betty (Randy) Main, Marilyn Fasbender, and Janice Zenner; as well as his brothers, Ken and Greg (Diana), who will miss his guidance, humor and kindness. His love was multiplied through his twelve grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life, and the numerous nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Larry.
For two decades, Larry was a valued employee at Case New Holland, where his work ethic and expertise were invaluable. However, Larry's true passion lay in the fields and ground of the land he farmed. As a farmer, he found deep fulfillment in caring for the land, whose generous yields sustained and nourished the community.
Beyond his professional life, Larry was an avid outdoorsman. He relished the times he could escape to the woods for hunting or to a local lake for fishing. Camping trips were a favorite family activity. He was also a familiar face at local garage sales, where he could often be found searching for treasures and knick-knacks. Larry's inventive spirit shone through in his ability to develop and assemble projects. His hands were rarely idle, and he found joy in creating and fixing things, often sharing his inventions and repairs with friends and family.
Larry's life was a testament to the values of hard work, perseverance, and the importance of family. His warm smile and generous spirit made him a beloved figure in his community. He was a man who could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel like an old friend. His stories, often filled with humor and wisdom, will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
