Larry R. Feikema

Larry R. Feikema, 74, of Newaygo, formerly of Monroe, passed away on February 15, 2023 in New Port Richey, Florida. He was born on August 25, 1948 to Raymond and Eileen (Goss) Feikema in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from Kentwood High School in 1966. He served in the Army from April 3, 1968 to November 5, 1969 when he was discharged as a SP5. He served as a combat medic in Vietnam where he earned a Bronze Star for Valor. On February 8, 2010 he married Jeanne Maile Feikema in White Cloud, Michigan. Larry worked as a Tool Crib Supervisor for Ford Motor Co. until his retirement. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, life member of Croton American Legion #381, and a life member of Big Rapids Disabled Veterans Chapter 18. Larry is survived by his wife Jeanne, two sons: Larry (Kim Badillo) Feikema of Sand Lake, Raymond (Connie) Feikema of Lyons; four daughters: Alice (Dan) Koster of Gaylord, Cheryl Deur of Newaygo, Traci (Kevin) Brannin of Perrysville, Indiana, Sharlene (Tim) Organ of Sand Lake; 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, three sisters: Linda Lamer, Evelyn (David) Samolinski, Yvonne (David) Chrysler; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Walter Lamer. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday, February 24, 2023, 10:00 am - 11:00 am with the funeral at 11:00 am, all at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo, with Father Peter C. Schafer officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Bartholomew Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Fremont Area Foundation - Deur Endowment Fund, Christian Ministries.
