Feike Frederick Feikema,73, of Evart, passed away at his home, on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Feike was born in Clare, MI on September 25,1952 to Frederick and Ferne (Machleit) Feikema. An avid member of FFA & 4-H for many years growing up, guard/tackle in high school football. In 1971, he graduated from Evart High School and went on to honorably serve his country in both the Army and the Navy. Following his military service, he traveled and resided throughout the United States before moving back home, to Evart, in 1985. He enjoyed many jobs, some of which, construction (grain silo's) in Iowa, he owned his own leather and tooling business, 14 years at Evart Products (Ventra) and helped where he could on the farm.
Feike loved the freedom of the road and the wind on his chest, owning many motorcycles in his lifetime, a past member of the Sojourners/Jokers. He enjoyed the profound, uncomplicated peace of the stillness of the woods or trickle of a stream. Feike always said he didn't need to go to church, God was in the woods, and he could talk to Him anytime he wanted. As an avid hunter, fisherman and conservationist, he took a great many hunting trips solo and with his grandson Jesse, his most memorable trip to the UP at Bear Camp. He provided every grandchild (and other unrelated kids too) a fishing rod and some of his hand tied flies, for a sure catch! He grew a bountiful garden and shared his veggies with those he loved. He adored his great-grandchildren (Effie & Jackson & Everliegh) and reconnecting with family after so many years.
