Larry James Fix, 79, of Rochester, MN, passed away on Friday, April 5th, 2025, after a short illness. Larry was born on September 26th, 1945, in Winona, MN, to John and Opal (Potter) Fix, joining his brother Keith and sister Patricia.
Larry graduated from Dover-Eyota High School in 1963. He cherished reconnecting with friends and classmates at the annual Golden Grads Celebration. After high school, he served in the US Army and spent several years in the Army National Guard.
Larry had a 40-year career at Crenlo Inc. in Rochester, where he was known for his dedication and attention to detail as a welder. After retirement, he worked at Menards, where he enjoyed many friendships.
Larry was a devoted husband and father. He cherished spending time with his family, both at home and on family trips. He was an avid sports fan, often starting his mornings with updates on the Vikings, Twins, and Gophers. He also took great pride in his yard, meticulously tending to his lawn and growing tomatoes, as well as caring for Linda’s many flowers.
Larry is survived by his wife Linda; son, Brandon (Jodi Meinjohans) of Edmonds, WA, and daughter Wendy (Byron Estrada) of Menlo Park, CA, as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Keith; his sister, Pat; his niece, Melissa Ploetz; and his nephews, Keith Fix and Troy Schmidt.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles, MN from 5pm to 7pm. The memorial service will be on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN at 11am, with an additional visitation starting at 10am. Larry will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles, MN.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Military Honors will be presented by American Legion Hugh Watson Post 190 and VFW Post 551.
