Larry C. Hamilton, Jr., at the age of 86 years old, passed away on August 8, 2024, to join his Lord and Savior.

Larry was born on April 22, 1938, to Larry C. Hamilton Sr. and Francis (Lackey) Hamilton in Driscoll, Texas.

He married Donna Ruth Hamilton on August 7, 1955, after eloping to Mexico. In 1958 their son Richard Allen "Dickie" Hamilton was born. In 1963 Stacy Ruth Hamilton was born and in 1981 Donnett Hamilton. Tragically Dickie and Stacy passed away during their childhood years. Later he was overjoyed with the birth of his grandson Richard Allen Hamilton and gave him the nickname J.R.

Larry was an industrious worker and had work ethics that stood out to everyone who knew him. He worked for USPS as a mail carrier before finding his passion of working in the oilfield. He worked for Superior Oil Company as a field service mechanic until the early seventies when he started his own business, Larry Hamilton Field Service. During the bust of the eighties, he downsized and reconstructed the company into LaHamco, Inc., from 1984-1998. After leaving the oil field behind Larry worked for his best friend, David Tomlinson, which landed him in San Angelo where he worked and lived on the North Concho River until his passing.

Larry was a Christian man and studied his Bible every day with a deep passion to walk closer to his Lord and Savior. His love for the Lord was obvious in the way he treated others as he never met a stranger and once you met him you loved him, and you knew he loved you back! (You could even see a twinkle in his eyes) If you were Larry's friend you were his family! He had a giving heart and helped anyone who needed a helping hand. Even when his physical body was no longer able to get around as well as he once could he would get on his golf cart and go check on others.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Ruth Hamilton; two young children, Richard Allen "Dickie" Hamilton, and Stacy Ruth Hamilton.

Larry is survived by his daughter Donnett Perry, son- in-law Michael Perry, and grandson, Michael Perry, Jr. (J.R) all of Midland; cousin, Joanne Hughen and his adopted family Gayle McCrea Whipple and her family, along with numerous dear friends.

We rejoice in knowing Larry is no longer suffering and is with his Lord and Savior, but those of us he leaves behind will miss him very much and he most definitely lives on in our hearts. The family extends special thanks to the doctors and staff of Shannon Medical Center and the staff of Regency House for helping Larry during his last three months.

Larry requested that there be no funeral, but his family and friends will celebrate his life with a little "get together" down on the river cruising on golf carts, telling stories, and laughing!
