Larry Hansen Obituary
Larry was born March 20, 1940, in Avant, Oklahoma to Orval James and Ruth Mae (Cobb) Hansen. Larry grew up and received his education in the Avant/Barnsdall area where he graduated high school from Barnsdall in 1958.Larry married Velma Lee Collins on June 1, 1957, in Barnsdall and made their home in Avant. Larry was employed as a carpenter, oilfield pumper and worked for Reda Pump where he was a machinist. Larry was of the Assembly of God faith. Larry loved woodworking, gardening, being ornery, loved the New York Yankees, Oklahoma Sooner, and the Dallas Cowboys. Most of all Larry loved his family. Family meant everything to him, and he loved them so much.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Ruth Hansen, brother, Leonard Hansen, two sisters, Wanda Hansen and Betty Hansen, one great grandson, Dylon Hansen and one great-great granddaughter, Freya Lamb.
Larry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Velma, two children, Wayne Hansen and wife Carol, and Phillip Hansen and wife Emily, two brothers, Noel Hansen and Ronnie Hansen, twelve grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Music for the services will be, "Wish You Were Here", "Beulah Land" and "Steel Guitar Rag"
Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Hansen, Phillip Hansen, Charley May, Jacob Hansen, Zach Sikes, and Tracker Hansen.
