He was a retired contractor and member of First Baptist Church of Monticello. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Hartness.
Larry is survived by a daughter, Ann Hartness; a niece, Lisa Hartness Gibson and husband Cliff; a nephew, Mark Hartness and wife Hope all of Monticello.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello. Arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. You can sign Larry's guestbook registry on this page.

I'll miss him. We had a wild ride.
Now I'm not sure how he was with others,but he wasn't bad news to me. We used to go fishing. He even taught me how to clean them at the age of 30. My own father never taught,not that he had time.
He showed me a simple way of living. He showed love to my pup Brutus(remembering). They'll be waiting up for me. I'll crack a cold one and fry some fish with them when I get up there. We can do the summer of 2020 all over again. Easily one of the better years of my life.
Love ya Uncle Larry. I'll miss our conversations of bantering for fun once a blue moon.
