Larry Allan Hensche, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 5, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in Albert Lea, to Arnold and Norma Hensche. He graduated from Alden-Conger High School. Larry married the love of his life Susan Boyer on March 29, 1969 at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. Larry found deep meaning and community in his faith, and was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church at Pickerel Lake where he made lifelong friends and spiritual connections.

Larry's passion was in farming and taking care of the land, but he also found joy in his work as a truck driver, with time at various companies traveling the country. He also worked for Mrs. Gerry's and Securitas at Alamco. Beyond his professional life, he was known for his fervent dedication to building and restoring tractors and watching tractor pulls. His special affinity for Farmall tractors founded countless hours and memories of bonding with his children and grandchildren passing on his wisdom.

Larry had an avid love for the many dogs in his life, spoiling them daily with treats, belly rubs, or just napping in his chair with them on his lap. In his later years, he delighted in the simple pleasures of life, spending hours watching the birds, squirrels, and rabbits that visited his yard, spoiling them so much that corn still sprouts in the yard. He loved telling stories about his life and making sure his family knew their origins. He had a knack for bringing laughter, joking just to make everyone smile. Above all, Larry worked hard to be the caretaker and provider, ensuring that his family never went without, embodying unconditional love and selflessness.

Larry's legacy is carried on in his daughters, Wanda (Doug) Weigel and Barbara (Tom) Hensche, son Michael Hensche; grandchildren, Daniel (Morgan) Rodriquez, Darian (Taylor) Weigel, Jasmine Rodriquez, Darik (Skyler) Weigel, Tyler (Hannah) Rodriquez, Nathan (Marisa) Hensche, Alyson Cords, Jaydon (Alexandria) Weigel and Christopher Cords II; great-grandchildren, Brooks Weigel, Ryker Burris, Lindee Collins-Rodriquez, Wednesday Burris, Rowan Hensche and Ellie Weigel; mother in law Rose Boyer; and siblings Paul (Bea) Hensche, Susan (Paul) Kleinschrodt, Phillip (Cathy) Hensche, and Timothy (Jana) Hensche; and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Norma; his wife Susan; his father-in-law Walter Boyer; his brother-in-law David Boyer; and niece Amy Hensche-Burgett.

A visitation to remember and celebrate Larry's life will be held on Sunday, August 10th, from 1 PM until 4 PM at Bonnerup Funeral and Cremation Service, 2210 East Main Street, Albert Lea. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 12th beginning at 11 AM at Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake, 69471 190th Street, Albert Lea with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will be held immediately after the service where family and friends will gather to honor and remember him in fellowship. Burial services will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, 17544 US-65, Albert Lea.

Larry's family would like to express their appreciation for the many medical professionals whose assistance and compassion aided Larry throughout the years of his complicated medical care; and would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Cherry and Stephanie Lorenson for everything over the years; and a very special thank you to Susan and Paul Kleinschrodt for bringing him into their home on the farm where he grew up to spend his final hours.
