Land surveyor, Wayne Hensche passed away suddenly on November 24, 2024. Wayne lived a full and adventurous life and always wanted to be known as a person who contributed for good. As a young adult, Wayne served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Benin, Africa. He chose a career in the US Forest Service and sought out varied experiences: wildland firefighting across the United States, mapping logistics support to humanitarian aid in the Serbia/Kosova war, and special projects support in Brazil and Haiti. Locally he served on his church council, Soil and Water Conservation Board, and as county surveyor. His love for survey work was such that he started a private company and provided survey services to many county property owners. A more complete obituary and information for memorial services will be published at a later date.
