Larry D. Hively, Sr., age 75 of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 7, 1949, in Richland County to the late Carl V. and Ruth A. (Oswalt) Hively, and on January 4, 1974, he married his beloved wife, Catherine L. (Hedrick).

Larry graduated from Madison High School, and he went on to work for Taylor Metal for 44 years. He loved camping, fishing, and working in the yard, whether that be mowing the grass or tending to his garden, and he adored his pet chihuahua and cat.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cathy L. Hively; his daughter-in-law Michelle Thompson; his grandchildren Stacy D. Hively and Jason D. Hively; and his great-granddaughter Zafira L. Hively.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Ruth Hively, his son Larry Hively, Jr., and his siblings Robert, Raymond, Jack, Elvera, Shirley, and Jeanie.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will take place at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.
