Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Funeral Home on Feb. 17, 2026.
Larry Dean Hubbard, devoted father, beloved grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Imperial, Nebraska, surrounded by his loving family on February 7, 2026. Born on June 8, 1948, in Cedaredge, Colorado, to Dale and Ruby (Jennings) Hubbard. Larry lived a life filled with hard work, love, and the joy of family.

Larry graduated high school in Imperial, California, in 1966. His heart found its match when he met the love of his life, Gloria Sawyer. The two were married in Winterhaven, California, on June 9, 1967, beginning a partnership that would last nearly six decades. Their loving bond served as the cornerstone of their family, inspiring all who knew them.

Throughout his life, Larry dedicated himself to farming, a vocation that connected him deeply to the land and its cycles. He found pride and joy in his work, nurturing both crops and the community around him. Beyond farming, Larry found great pleasure in fishing and had a knack for restoring old cars. His beloved 1957 Chevy and 1959 Ford Pickup were not merely vehicles; they were symbols of his dedication to craftsmanship and the memories created on countless drives.

Family was a central theme in Larry's life. He loved spending time with those closest to him and particularly cherished his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gloria, and their three children-Larry D. Hubbard Jr. of Milliken, Colorado, Tammy Buxman of Golden, Colorado, and Tina (Leon Koester) Hubbard of Minneola, Kansas; six grandchildren, Chandra (Chris) Bennetts, Darlene (Philip) Stuht, Amber Swagar, Brittani Swagar, Nash (Jacey) Hubbard, and Tara (Josh) Kinnischtzke; eight great-grandchildren, Addison, Mavis, Cooper, Hallie, Nate, Wrenleigh, Haven and Waylen.

While Larry has left this world, his spirit continues to reside in the hearts and lives of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, As we remember Larry, let us celebrate his legacy of love, hard work, and treasured moments shared with family.
