Nora Hubbard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Honaker Funeral Home on Feb. 20, 2026.
Nora Darlene Miller Hubbard, age 86, of Honaker, Virginia passed away peacefully at her home Friday morning (February 20, 2026). Born June 23, 1939 in Swords Creek, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Bazzie and Clara Richardson Miller. Darlene married the love of her life, Reverand Curtis Hubbard on June 1, 1957 and together they raised three daughters. She and Curtis were of the Pentecostal faith and while he ministered, she loved to sing. They would travel to churches throughout the area together. She was an amazing cook and always looked forward to the Christmas season each year, as it meant preparing countless pies, cakes, and candy for everyone she knew. A talented seamstress, her favorite days were spent sewing, quilting and crocheting. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandsons, Devin Hubbard, Brandon Dotson and Teddy Huffman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Teddy and Trula Hubbard; brother and sister-in-law, Guy and Dorothy "Dot" Miller; sister, Brenda Miller; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna Miller, Nanny and Roy Latham, Walter Latham, Jerry and Dorothy Miller and Will Roger Honaker.

Survivors include her three daughters, Rita Faye Cox and her partner, Dan Shortridge of Lewis Creek, Virginia, Delzena Hubbard and her husband, Allen of Cedar Bluff, Virginia and Annette Ramsey and her husband, Joe of Honaker, Virginia; grandson, Bobby Huffman of the home; brothers, James Miller and wife, Lillian and Dwight Miller; sisters, Shirley Honaker and Bonnie Plaster; sister-in-law, Mattie Latham; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

In accordance with Darlene's final wishes, a graveside service will be conducted at 10 AM Monday at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum #4 at Claypool Hill, Virginia with Rev. David Perkins officiating. Interment will follow. Those wishing to attend are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
