Larry Mason Hutson

Larry Mason Hutson, 80, of Henrico, Virginia and Palm Bay, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2025. Born in 1945, Larry lived a life marked by dedication, creativity and service.
Larry proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1972, stationed at Elmendorf Air Force base in Anchorage, Alaska, where he skillfully maintained engines, ensuring operational readiness. After his military service, Larry built a successful career in sales, initially specializing in custom-designed fine jewelry before transitioning to retail sales of mattresses and bed products, where his warmth and expertise left a lasting impression on customers.
A gifted artist, Larry expressed his creativity through crafting exquisite wood furniture, sketching, painting vibrant landscapes, and designing striking seasonal displays at home. His passion for gardening and knack for tinkering with anything in need of repair brought beauty and functionality to his surroundings.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn W. Hutson; his son, Philip Martin Hutson and daughter Tamela Jean Hutson-Barnhart (Tony); as well as his grandchildren: Ashlyn Costello (John), Jessica, Tristan (Breauna) and Jacqueline Liberatore, Mason, Megan, and CarolAnn Hutson; his great-grandchildren: Jaydyn and Kylie Brovont; Bruklyn, Victoria, Lilith, Willow and Hunter Liberatore, and Jackson Reynolds; his stepchildren: Clancy Daly (Debbie), Brennan Spoonhower (Neil) and Mary Lauren Lam (David) along with eight step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
He also leaves behind his siblings Frances Butcher and Everett (Judy) Hutson, and sister-in-law, Jeri Hutson. He was preceded in death by his infant son David Anthony Hutson; his grandson Robert Mason Hutson; by his father and mother Mason and Mabel Hutson; and his younger brother, Lester Hutson.
Larry's legacy of love, creativity, and service will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. A private burial service will be held later in August at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Larry's honor.
