Larry Jones, 85, of Hartsburg, moved to his Heavenly home August 6, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be from 11Am until 1 PM Monday, August 11, 2025, at Park Meadows Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 PM with Jonathan Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Hartsburg Union Cemetery. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Larry was born March 23, 1940, in Thompsonville, IL., the son of James Carson Jones and Ida Mae (Wintz) Jones. He married Linda Barrett on December 26, 1981. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army as a medic in Korea. He was a faithful member of Park Meadows Baptist Church where he was a 68-year member.

Larry worked for 35years at Caterpillar and upon his retirement he cut and sold firewood. He was an avid fisherman. He was a devout Christian who loved and served the Lord with all of his heart.

Survivors include his wife Linda Jones, children: Tammy (Steve) Foster, LeighAnn (Dick) Jones Altman, and Rebecca Parke; stepchildren: John (Rita) Henson and Jennifer Hopper; grandchildren: Jennifer (DeMarcus) Boling, Kellie (Matt) Farmer, Hollie (Steve) Shanle, Eleigh Owen, Michael (Kenzie) Owen, Shelby (Justin) Brickey, Gage Parke, David Crook, James Armstrong, Cassie Henson, and Austin Tucker; several great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lisa Jones, son Larry David Jones, stepdaughter Tina Hypes, granddaughter Betsie Austif, great grandchildren Josie and Jake Austif, and brothers John Larkin Jones and David Jones.

Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's research.
