PALMYRA-Larry I. Kennedy, 86, lovingly called Bump by all, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 10, 2025, at his home in Palmyra.

Born on November 24, 1938, he was the son of the late Ivan and Evelyn (Elkins) Kennedy Sr. He was employed at the Hartland Tannery for 43 years and in earlier years did mechanical services at his home.

Bump loved his family the most. He was generous and always thinking of others. He loved to cook the holiday meals, enjoyed canning, and was very talented in woodworking by making furniture, cradles, bookshelves, and rocking chairs. He liked going fishing, listening to country music, painting cars, and working in the garage with Larry Philip. Watching college sports on TV was a favorite of his and he could always be found at the grandkids softball games. He was never afraid to tell his family that he loved them and he absolutely spoiled and cherished his dogs. His morning Facebook sharing of flowers will be missed and remembered.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Kennedy and wife Patty and Rick Kennedy and wife Ellen; daughter-in-law, Martha Kennedy; grandchildren: Tawnya Booth and husband John, Kelly Nickerson and fiancé Joe Chambers, Jennifer Paquet and husband Kevin, Mandy Kennedy and companion Josh Nugent, Jordan Perry and husband Nick, Benjamin Kennedy and companion Kianna Sousa and Brandon Reny; great-grandchildren: Teran Booth, Jacob Booth, Natalie Nickerson-Emery and husband Harold, Hailey Nickerson and fiancé Trey Benton, Carter Kennedy, Danica Duplisea, Chloe Perry, Ava Nugent, Nash Nugent, Walker Paquet, Cameron Mayhew, and Kade Kennedy; great-great-grandchildren: Teagen Quimby, Nyomi Quimby, Nakoa Emery, and Myla Benton; siblings: Judy Ramsdell, Ivan Kennedy Jr and wife Michelle, Diana Humphrey and husband Duane, Terry Kennedy and wife Maggie, and Jessie Breau and husband Kevin; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Linda Morrill.

He was predeceased by his parents; loving wife, Meredith; beloved son, Mark; and siblings: April DeRaps, James Kennedy, Nola LaBree, Kathy Mortimer, and Michael Kennedy.

The family wishes to express their gratefulness to Martha and Kelly for always being there to help take care of him. Her love and devotion is appreciated.

A private gathering will be held by the family.
