For I am convinced that neither death nor life… will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39

Larry Eugene Kimble was called home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2025, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He transitioned peacefully at the age of 65, surrounded by the love and presence of his family.

Larry was born on August 10, 1959, at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to the late Joseph and Earline Kimble. He was one of five children, and was raised in a close-knit home filled with love, tradition, and strong values. Larry accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. He was a youth Sunday School Superintendent at The Church of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, where his foundation of faith was established.

At 18 years old, Larry joined the United States Navy, beginning a life of service and global exploration. In 1979, Larry married the love of his life, Theressa Washington. Many thought they were too young to make such a lifelong commitment, but together they proved otherwise-building a strong marriage and a beautiful family and over 46 years of love, partnership, and resilience.

His military career took him across the world, including time stationed in Italy and multiple U.S. states, before he eventually settled in Hampton, Virginia to raise his family. He served honorably and retired in 1998 after two decades of faithful duty. Larry worked 15 years in civil service in Columbus Ohio before he retired.

Larry was a man of quiet strength, often described as reserved, but those who truly knew him discovered his humor and deep devotion to those he loved. He was self-disciplined, consistent, and dedicated to building a stable, comfortable life for his wife and children. He found joy in life's simple pleasures: cooking, watching basketball, fishing, shooting pool, and constructing intricate model train sets with care and precision. Larry was an avid sports fan of the University of Michigan Wolverines and the Benton Harbor High School Tigers.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Theressa Kimble; his children, Crystal Kimble and Candace Kimble Johnson; and his beloved grandchildren, Allen Derrick Brown and Cianna Noelle Johnson. He is survived by his siblings, Emma Jean Kimble, Joyce Dunston (Edward), and Lawrence Charles Kimble (Lula). Nephews: Mason Dunston and Lawrence Kimble II, (Jakyra) along with a host of family and friends. Special Mentors: Pastor Robert Defrance (Joyce), Jessie Atkins (Edwina).

Though Larry was a man of few words, his impact was quiet but enduring. His presence, his principles, and his legacy will live on through the lives of those who loved him.
