Larry Wayne Kincaid, age 91, passed away October 23, 2025, at Hospice of West Alabama. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation for one hour immediately prior to the service.
Mr. Kincaid was a graduate of Shades Valley High School, Homewood, Alabama, Class of 1952. He served in the 76th Army Band from 1953-1957 as a trumpeter dedicating WW2 U.S. cemeteries throughout Western Europe. During this time, he met and married his wife, Christiane, in 1956. After his service Larry and Chris moved to Tuscaloosa where he worked his way through college at the Tuscaloosa News through the late 1990's. He delivered newspapers to stands and racks throughout Tuscaloosa. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a master's degree in 1964. After graduation, he worked for Tuscaloosa County and State programs as the assistant director of job training and placement, until his retirement from Stillman College. During his retirement years, he and Chris enjoyed trips to Gulf Shores, RV traveling, and flying to France visiting family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Kincaid and Elsie Lauxman Kincaid, wife Christiane Kincaid, sister Betty Kincaid Cummings and brother William Russell Kincaid.
He is survived by sons Bruce A. Kincaid (Fern) of Calera, and Eric R. Kincaid (Alisa) of Tuscaloosa, grandchildren Valarie N. Goebel (Alex), Carl A. Kincaid (Candice), Anna Kincaid and Alex Kincaid, as well as great grandchildren Felicity McNeese, Ariana Goebel, Julianna Goebel, Carlie Kincaid, Chloe Kincaid and Annabelle Kate Goebel.
The family wishes to recognize Laurent Balle and Denis Sardon as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, in Larry's honor, may be made to Hospice of West Alabama or The Wounded Warrior Project.
