Larry W. Kiracofe

LARRY W. KIRACOFE Larry W. Kiracofe "Smoke", a beloved father and a proud Vietnam veteran, passed away on August 3, 2025, just days shy of his 79th birthday. Born on August 9, 1946, in Van Wert, to the late Harland and Margaret (Bollenbaugh) Kiracofe, Larry spent his life embracing the values of hard work, friendship, and fun. After serving in the Army, Larry carried the spirit of camaraderie into his life. He found great joy in being a member of the Van Wert VFW Post #5803, where he cherished the tight-knit community of fellow veterans. He relished the bonds formed there and lived life to the fullest, often with a hearty laugh and a good story. Larry was also a member of the Moose and the American Legion. Larry's career path took him from Bud Industries to the construction field, eventually becoming an OTR truck driver after retirement. He was never one to shy away from a project, always diving into new ideas, though many remained unfinished, something his daughter often teased him about. Larry is survived by his three daughters: Tera (Shane Hanna) Lovelace of Van Wert;, Nichole Boaz of Van Wert; Lisa Brown of South Carolina; stepson, Ronald (Brieann) Schriver II of Latty; sisters: Judy Foust of Van Wert and Brenda (Cecil) Foust of Convoy; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by sisters: Shirley Flickinger, Joann Darling; brothers: Bruce Kiracofe and Ronald Dale Kiracofe. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Larry's life at the Van Wert VFW Post #5803 on August 16, 2025, from 2 PM to 6 PM, with military honors rendered at 4 PM. Larry will be interred privately with his parents in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to your favorite veteran's charity.
