Larry Lee Knapp, 84, of Mayview, Missouri passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 South Second Street, Odessa, MO 64076, 816-633-5524. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Odessa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Stroke Association. Larry was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 23, 1941, to Calvin Roy and Martha Mae (McGinnis) Knapp. He graduated from Peculiar High School in Peculiar, Missouri. On April 8, 1960, Larry was united in marriage to Jo Ann (Dimoush) Knapp in Peculiar, Missouri. Larry pursued several careers throughout his life, but his most memorable was being a farmer. He was a member of the Lions Club in Warsaw and Elks Lodge in Warrensburg. Along with spending time with family and friends, Larry enjoyed woodworking and spending his winters enjoying South Padre Island, Texas.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann (Dimoush) Knapp of the home; four children, Keith (Jeana) Knapp of TX, Brian Knapp of Mayview, MO, Shawn Murnahan of Mayview, Mo, and Mitchell (Marnie) Knapp of Mayview, MO; seven grandchildren, Cody (Ashley) Knapp, Trevor (Amber) Knapp, Dalton Knapp, Taylor Murnahan, Hayden Knapp, Cameron Knapp, and Katelyn Knapp; two great-grandchildren, Paul Knapp and Rose Knapp; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by both his parents, two sisters, Mary Lou Foust and Carol Aswegan; two brothers, James “Jim” Knapp and Robert “Bob” Knapp; and one son-in-law, Rich Murnahan.
