Larry Kramer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McNearney - Schmidt Funeral and Cremation on Feb. 27, 2026.
Larry David Kramer, 59, of Shakopee, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly at home on February 25, 2026.

Larry was born May 22, 1966, in Austin, Minnesota to Leonard and Martha (Borchert) Kramer. He grew up on the family's Century Farm in Hayfield, Minnesota, alongside his seven brothers and sisters, where he developed a strong work ethic and deep appreciation for family and rural life.

On March 25, 2000, Larry married Christina in Montego Bay, Jamaica, beginning a loving and devoted marriage that spanned more than 25 years. Later that year, the couple joyfully welcomed their son, Andrew James.

After graduating high school, Larry pursued his passion for technical design and completed extensive training in computer-aided design. He built a successful career in the field, and for the last 20 years he worked as a CAD programmer at Enterprise Pattern & Prototype in Jordan, Minnesota, where his skills and dedication were greatly valued.

Known for his sense of humor, genuine kindness and deep concern for others, Larry was a cherished friend, neighbor and family man. He found great joy in spending time with his loved ones - tackling DIY projects around the house, sharing his love of music, smoking ribs during warm summer days and creating lasting memories together.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Christina; his son, Andrew; his siblings Annette (Rich) Wolf, Nancy Bartlewski, Sharon (Ted) Nelson, Mary (Raughn) Oakland, Kathy (Don) Gerhart, and David (Andrea) Kramer; parents-in-law, Harold (Bud) and Barb Miller; sister-in-law, Renae Kramer; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Martha Krame; his oldest brother, John; brother-in-law, Tom Bartlewski.

A celebration of life will be held this summer, with details to be announced by the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to Samaritan's Purse in memory of Larry's lifelong generosity and readiness to help those in need.
