Noe-Brooks Funeral Home and Crematory - Morehead CityLarry Martin Land, a force larger than life, of Morehead City, passed away gently on March 7, 2026.
He had a sharp mind and a huge heart, both of which were incredibly strong, boundless, and kind. He had an immense love of life and lived it to the fullest. So much so that he didn’t know how to quit and found rest optional. The only way he was going to rest was for God to call him home.
Larry was born and grew up in Gaston County, N.C. He ascended from his humble beginnings to become an incredible businessman and entrepreneur.
His love of the water brought him to Carteret County where he thrived on boating adventures (whether they be day trips, or trips to the islands).
His generosity was infinite and more often than not, personal. He volunteered for countless causes, but none more than The Salvation Army.
Stories…he always had amazing stories. To strangers, his stories sounded exaggerated, yet they were usually true.
His faith in God and love of America never wavered. His prayers were always finished with, “Bless this family, Bless this Country, bless the troops.”
He is survived by his wife, Lynette Land of Morehead City; two daughters, Catherine Land of Greenville; Mary-Taylor Land of Garner; grandson, Landon Wilkins of Garner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Annie Mae Land; and his brother, Bobby Land.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at The Salvation Army, 2800 Bridges Street, Morehead City, NC 28557. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held afterward, details to come later. Please check out noebrooks.net for details.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 2800 Bridges Street, Morehead City, NC 28557, or the Crystal Coast Hospice House, 100 Big Rock Weigh, Newport, NC 28570.
