Larry N. Lankford was born on April 27, 1945, in Neosho, Missouri, one of four children to Orville and Bertha (Martin) Lankford. He entered into rest on October 20, 2025, in Neosho, at the age of 80. Larry was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Neosho High School, class of 1963. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, during the Vietnam War. Larry worked as a maintenance mechanic for Hinamoto in Carthage before retiring. He attended Silver Moon Full Gospel Church. Larry was an accomplished mechanic and enjoyed working on all types of lawnmowers and other equipment. On June 28, 1975, at Hilldale Baptist Church in Neosho, Larry and Mary (Gillmore) were united in marriage. Mary preceded him in death on December 28, 2021. He is survived by one sister, Neoma Johnson of Neosho and two brothers, Dennis Lankford and wife, Cheryl of Seneca and Gary Lankford and wife, Lesa of Neosho. Memorial graveside services with military honors are scheduled for 10 am, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at New Salem Cemetery, west of Neosho.

Services are under the personal care and direction of Clark Funeral Homes.
