Larry was one the most down to earth and mentoring individuals that was at Peoria High School. His reaching and coaching philosophy surpasses many others. He will be missed but will be at the side of the Lord to still watch over us.

My condolences to the Lavery family. I had Coach Lavery for wrestling and football. He was a tough, old school kind of Coach, which was greatly appreciated. I enjoyed coming back to Peoria Stadium and watching Coach get his teams fired up to play some pretty awesome games. RIP Coach Lavery!

My condolences to the family. Mr. Lavery was my driver's Ed teacher one summer (1985). He called me Ace. I'll never forget it because he got into an argument with another motorist because of me. I stopped on a street because I thought the stop sign was for me but it was for a ramp. A driver behind us started honking and yelling. Mr Lavery got out of the car and started yelling back. He said can't you see that this is a student driver? I thought for sure I would fail but I ended up passing. It was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. Mr. Lavery was a good teacher. He was well respected.
