Larry A. Layton, passed away peacefully, on October 25, 2024 at 4:26 am, at Meritus Health Hospital in Hagerstown, MD. He had been a resident at Western Maryland Hospital Center in Hagerstown, MD almost 2 years as a resident in their Long Term Care facility.
Larry was born on December 20, 1952, at Miners Hospital, in Frostburg.
Larry was a unique individual and he will be missed by his family and friends. As a young boy he had an infectious smile and was full of mischief.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence (Jake) Layton and Clara Edith (McKenzie) Layton. Also preceding him are his brothers: Jim, Howard (Charlie), Johnny, Paul, Lawrence (Jr), and Sisters Emma Louise (Layton) Albright and Nancy Layton.
Larry is survived by a brother, Robert A. Layton: Sisters, Betty (Layton) Fair, Phyllis (Layton) Deal, Donna (Layton) Saylor, and Debra (Layton) Brenneman; numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Larry lived at Frost Village in Frostburg, Maryland for 26 years, December 1995 to May 2021.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at 11 AM. Friends and family will be received one hour prior from 10 am to 11 am.
A private inurnment service will follow.
