Larry A. Lowden

1947 - 2024

Larry A. Lowden, 77, of Derry, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024, at Select Specialty Hospital, Latrobe. Born April 26, 1947, in Latrobe, he was the son of the late Robert G. Lowden and Betty M. (Davis) Lowden. Prior to his retirement, Larry had been employed at Surtight. A veteran of the Vietnam era, he served with the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member and longtime finance officer at the American Legion Post No. 515 and the Latrobe 515 Veterans Home Association. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing, and in his earlier years he played trumpet with the 'Esquires' drum and bugle corps. Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda A. (Frisky) Lowden of Derry; one son, Brian A. Lowden, and his wife, Becky, of Bradenville; one daughter, Tracy L. Bridge, and her husband, Joseph, of Bradenville; one sister, Barbara Myers, and her husband, Robert Jr., of Latrobe; four grandchildren, Trevor Lowden, Tyler Lowden, Rachel Bridge, and Alex Bridge; two step-grandchildren, Ty Miller and Kelsey Shirey; two step-great-grandchildren, Makayla and Mayleigh Shirey; and his cat, Salem. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Select Specialty Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Wise officiating. Military honors accorded by the VFW Post 33, Greensburg, will immediately follow the service. Interment will be private.
