Stephen Byron Lowden, 55, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025. He was born on March 30, 1970, in Santa Clara, California, to Donna Fettke and William Lowden.
Stephen attended Piedmont High School, earning his diploma in 1988 through independent studies. Shortly after, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1989 to 1998 as a Hull Maintenance Technician, Petty Officer Second Class. During his service, he earned eight commendations before his honorable discharge.
Following his military career, Stephen became an accomplished structural and ornamental ironworker for more than two decades. He was a proud member of Iron Workers Local 377 and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. His precision and craftsmanship extended beyond his work as he had a deep appreciation for antiques and a lasting fascination with Celtic history.
Stephen found joy and peace outdoors. Whether camping, mountain biking, scuba diving, dirt biking, or hiking, he approached every adventure with curiosity and enthusiasm. A true animal lover, he opened his heart and home to many pets over the years, always keeping his dogs close by his side.
He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, thoughtful words, and the quiet wisdom he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.
Stephen was preceded in death by his father, William Lowden. He is survived by his mother, Donna Fettke; his stepmother, Karin Lowden; his brother, Scott Lowden; and his children, Lorina Lowden, Ian Lowden, and Madelyn Lowden.
Memorial tributes may be made through The Springs Funeral Services.
