Larry " Bubba" E. Macklin, age 71 of Laingsburg passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be announced in the future.
Bubba was born January 13, 1950, in Owosso, Michigan to Elmer and Elmeda (Penrod) Macklin. He was a graduate of Owosso High School, Class of 1969. He entered the United States Army following his graduation and served his country honorably. Upon his discharge he landed a job working on a riverboat in Arkansas. He eventually returned to the Owosso area and found employment with Owosso Motor Products as a production operator. He met the love of his life, Sandra Strouse there; they married in 2009. He worked for Cardinal Fabricating in Williamston as a fabricator. Bubba loved hunting and playing solitaire. He loved spending time with family and friends and was very supportive of his children's activities thru 4-H and caring for his daughter's horses. Bubba was a very skilled woodworker and could be found in the shop listening to classic rock or old country tunes as he built wonderful gifts to share with others. He never shied away from hard work in his life; a trait he instilled in his own children, and he never met a stranger, he could strike up a conversation at any time. He left an indelible mark in our lives and impression on our hearts; we love you!
Bubba is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, his children; James Macklin, Jarrod Macklin, Chris Shankel, Chanda Donnan, Tammy Strouse, and Troy Strouse, his 7 grandchildren, his 2 great-grandchildren, his siblings; Randy Macklin, Andrea Gilman, Debbie Taphouse, and Vicki Conrad, and his many friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his son; Jeffrey Macklin, his parents; Elmer and Elmeda Macklin, and his siblings; Beulah Greene, Leroy Macklin, and Dennis Macklin.
