Larry L. McComb, Sr. 51 died Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at his home surrounded by family after a lengthy illness. Larry was born October 30, 1973 in Battle Creek to Elverta (Cupps) McComb and Clarence McComb. He played football for Pennfield High School, graduating and later attending culinary school. Larry was a very talented chef and cooked food at various high-end places in the Battle Creek area for over 30 years.
Larry had a knack for cars and was always looking to flip cars that needed fixing up. He enjoyed slot cars and racing. Larry and Rebeccah attended many storage auctions together. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and football. Larry enjoyed spending his free time with family making memories. Larry loved his mommas cooking and spending holidays together. He loved to be with the family for bar-b-ques, bonfires, or just listening to music while hanging out, it don't take much to have a good time, he would always say. He also enjoyed collecting Lionel trains and playing darts.
Larry is survived by his fiancé, Rebeccah Hopkins, two sons, Larry McComb Jr., and Ryan McComb (Jamie); his stepdaughters, Shy Tolin, and Kasey Godbey; his mother, Elverta McComb and his father, Clarence McComb; two sisters, Tracy Hager (Michael) and Terry McComb (Scott); his grandchildren, Carter, Cameron, Kasper, Izzy, and Gab; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Larry's life will be announced very soon. As he told everyone, it's not goodbye, but see you later. Please check back for more information. Memorial donations may be made to the family to help cover the cost of funeral expenses.
