Larry Eugene McDaniel

Larry Eugene McDaniel, 79, of Manchester, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. McDaniel was born on September 4, 1945 in Warm Springs, the son of Eugene "E.E." McDaniel and Jimmie Lou McDaniel. He was raised in Meriwether county and was a graduate of Manchester High School in the class of 1963. He then earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Georgia. He worked in the insurance industry for over fifty years. Whether he was designing products for national distribution or working one-on-one with his clients, his goal was always to improve the financial well-being of those he served. Larry loved all things outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he traveled the world in search of his next great adventure. He and his wife's travels included hunting and safaris in South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, and Canada. He also found adventure hunting whitetail deer in his beloved Meriwether county. Key West also held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, May McDaniel of Manchester; brother, Randy (Martha) McDaniel of Covington, TN; cousin, Billy Ferris; and numerous other extended family and friends.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at The First Baptist Church - Warm Springs. The family will receive friends for visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.
