Larry Allen Morris, 76, of Fairmont, WV passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the JW Ruby Memorial Hospital. Larry was born on February 24, 1949, the son of the late George Harold and Geraldine (Bunner) Morris.
Larry was a graduate of East Fairmont High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force and retired after 22 years as a Master Sergeant. While stationed in Spain he met the love of his life and couldn't imagine life without her. Larry was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and enjoyed delivering food with Meal on Wheels. Larry held many jobs after his retirement, but his favorite job was being a Yayo (Grandpaw). He loved being with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Maria (Ordonez Alonso) Morris, son Gregory Morris and his wife Samantha, daughter Natalie Summers and her husband Mike, grandchildren Juliana Pierce and her husband Eric, Miley Summers, Marissa Summers, Landon Morris, great granddaughter Aurora Pierce, brothers Kevin Morris and his wife Terry, Marvin Morris, sister Karen Marie Moore, brother in law Fernando Ordonez Alonso and his wife Reyes and several nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter in infancy Maria Morris, and brothers in law Randy Moore and Manen Ruiz Alonso.
Family and friends can gather at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Knights of Columbus will have a service at the funeral home at 7:30 pm. A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 am with Father Patsy Iaquinta. A burial will take place at a later time with full military honors officiated by the United States Air Force and the Marion County Honor Guard.
