Larry Elvin Mravinec, 94, of Russell, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the Wilson Care Center in Wilson, Kansas.
Larry was born in Osborne County, Kansas, the son of Frank P. and Ruby V. (Boyd) Mravinec. Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for many years. A dedicated veteran, he was a lifelong member of the Russell V.F.W. Post #6240, honoring and supporting fellow servicemen and women throughout his life.
Larry was married to the love of his life, Lieselotte “Lisa” (Muller) Mravinec, for 42 years. Their life together was full of love, laughter, and unwavering support for their blended family.
Larry spent over 40 years in the auto body repair business and was long-time owner of Larry’s Body Shop where he was known for his skill, work ethic and pride in a job well done. In his free time, Larry enjoyed traveling and reading; passions that reflected his curiosity, thoughtfulness, and appreciation for life’s journey.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mamie Huxman; and two sons, Larry Marvinec, Jr. and Brett Marvinec.
Larry is survived by his wife Lisa of the home; sons, Bart Mravinec (Denise) of Russell, Kansas, Michael Moore (Mariann) of Shawnee, Kansas, Timothy Moore (Cheri) of Yukon, Oklahoma and Andrew Moore (Kimberly) of McKinney, Texas; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy and pride.
He leaves behind a legacy of service, strength, kindness, and deep devotion to his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Russell City Cemetery where the Russell VFW Post #6240 Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
