In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Leroy Murphy, a brother Billy Murphy Sr., nephew, Charles Nelson, brothers-in-law's, Ray Nelson and Jack Worner.
He is survived by his wife Dale Murphy; his children, Steven Murphy (Niki), Nancy Woolett (Dale), Tonya Frances, David Murphy, and Larry Murphy Jr., his grandchildren, Brytni, Haili, Maci, Tori, Lelan, Linken, Alana, Taylor, Nevaeh, Harley, Abby, and Kelly; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Worner, Betty Nelson, Donald Murphy, William Murphy, Eddie Shuffitt along with a host of nieces, nephews and family and friends.
Funeral service will be Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 12 noon in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with burial to follow at Cain Family Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects from 2 pm to 8 pm on Friday and from 9am till time of service at 12 noon.
