Larry Thomas "Big Moe" Napier, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Irvine Health and Rehabilitation in Irvine, Kentucky. He was born on March 7, 1945, to the late Herman Napier and the late Opal Combs Napier Begley. Larry was a dedicated truck driver employed by Montgomery Brothers Trucking, where the open road became his second home. His true joy, however, lay in the cherished moments spent with his beloved grandchildren, their laughter creating a symphony of happiness in his heart. An avid outdoorsman, Larry delighted in casting his line into the tranquil waters while fishing, and he relished the thrill of frog gigging under the moonlit sky. The breathtaking beauty of the Red River Gorge was a sanctuary for him, a place where he felt truly alive. With a passion for mechanics, Larry spent countless hours tinkering with diesel trucks, his hands often smeared with grease as he brought life back into the machines he loved. When the work was done, he would hop on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, the roar of the engine echoing his adventurous spirit as he cruised down the open highway. Larry was often found at the pool hall, where he enjoyed friendly competition. He was also no stranger to a good fistfight, engaging in spirited brawls. Larry seemed to know everyone in town, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went. His fun-loving spirit and zest for life made every moment spent with him a cherished memory. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his sister, Avanelle Whisman. He is survived by two sons: Tommy (Kim) Napier of Clay City and Tony (Kim) Napier of Anderson, Indiana; one daughter: Tammy (Tracy) Pasley of Irvine; one niece: Karen (Rex) Lykins of Morehead; one nephew: Larry (Becky) Whisman of West Liberty; eight grandchildren: Tommy Kennon, Brandon (Tiffany) Kennon, Tommy (Kim) Napier, Justin (Sarah) Pasley, Oshea (Toby) Howell, Kimberly (Mark) Reed, Anthony (Breanna) Larrison, and Melanie (Steven) Graham; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Hearne Funeral Home, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, Kentucky. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Greg Rogers will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Burial will be held at King-Napier Cemetery with Larry Whisman, Justin Pasley, Anthony Larrison, Tracy Pasley, Adain McIntosh, Steven Graham, and Jonathan McIntosh serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are James Sanders, David and Gwen Hager, Brandon Sanders, J.T. McIntosh, Sarai McIntosh, Wendi McIntosh, and Mable McIntosh.
