Larry Douglas Parker

Larry Douglas Parker, 84, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Bethany Woods Nursing Home in Albemarle, North Carolina. Born November 2, 1940, in Homer, Georgia, to the late Prue and Ruby Sanders Parker. Larry was a skilled craftsman and a talented woodworker who took immense pride in his work. He owned and operated a successful construction business before retiring from Cartner Glass in Charlotte, NC, where he dedicated many years of service. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his brothers, Mitchell Parker, and Harold Parker; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Harris. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis Chappell Parker of New London, NC; sister, Gail Parker Lunsford, of MI; sisters-in-law, Kathy Chappell, and Regina Chappell; nieces, Laurie Brintle Jarvis, and Tricia Jarrell; nephews, Harold Parker, Ty Lunsford, Jamie Harris, and Kelly Brintle; and cousins, Kevin Young, Keith Young, Jerry Parker, and Jerry Brown. A graveside service will be held at Little Richmond Baptist Church on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
