Larry Orlando Reed, lovingly known as "Larry Dog" and "Daddy-O," was born on February 3, 1963, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Clarissa H. Hill and Willard O. Reed. On September 28, 2025, Larry entered eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Terry Reed.
He grew up in Kansas City, where he attended Northeast High School and spent most of his years surrounded by family and friends. Larry worked at Armco Steel and Empire Candle Co., where he built connections and friendships that lasted throughout his life.
Larry had a way of bringing laughter into the room, always telling jokes, sharing stories, and keeping those around him smiling. A true Kansas City Chiefs fan, he rarely missed a game and enjoyed cheering his team on with passion. Known for being a "lean, mean walking machine," Larry could often be seen out and about, walking wherever he needed to go-his energy and presence made him a familiar face in the community.
He cherished time with his friends, loved hanging out, listening to music and always carried a lighthearted spirit. To his children and family, he was someone who lived life on his own terms; his humor and character will be remembered for years to come.
Larry leaves behind to honor his memory, two sons, Larry Parker and Larry O. Reed Jr.; three daughters, Zonya "Meechi" Brown, Chenell Wren, and Ciara Reed; one brother, Nurani Reed; four sisters, Willa Reed, Loretta Hill, Aimee Norman, and Mary Webb; one granddaughter, Harlym Lamyia Skhai Reed, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday October 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation 10:00am-11:00am at the chapel. Arrangements entrusted to Watkins Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Mr. Larry, please visit our floral store.
