Larry Ray Reinbold, 81 of Portage, passed away at home on February 7, 2024. He was born on December 13, 1942, in Kalamazoo to Ali R. and Gertrude J. (Westra) Reinbold.
Larry was proud to serve in the United States Army as an Armor Crewman and earned a Sharpshooter Badge. He spent his career at General Motors and retired from there. He continued working during his retirement as an auto parts delivery driver.
Larry loved to bowl with his wife Mary. He enjoyed fishing and racing stock cars at Galesburg Speedway and Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds. Larry spent time with his brother, Ron, riding motorcycles with their friends. He loved chatting and telling his stories to anyone and everyone.
Larry is survived by his wife Mary; children Jeffrey Reinbold and Lori Jancasz; stepchildren Thomas Papesh Jr., Pamela Griffith, and Kenneth Papesh; grandchildren Joseph, Matthew, and Nicholas Jancasz, Jorden Brinkert, Angel, Shelby, and Samantha Griffith, and Patrick Krzeminski; brothers William “Bill” and Gary Reinbold, and several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nancy Adams, and brother Ronnie “Ron” Reinbold.
Funeral services for Larry will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Home 622 S. Burdick St. Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Friends are invited to visit the family on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 12:00 pm and a graveside service will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
