Larry Eugene Roberts

Larry Eugene Roberts, 85, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Born January 20, 1938, he was the son of the late Howard & Myrtle Roberts and was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Maxine Roberts; and two brothers, Randall and William Roberts.
Larry was co-owner of Battlefield Park Body Shop from 1977 to 2003, when he retired. After retiring from the body shop, he took a job with Truck Enterprises delivering car parts all throughout Virginia. A four-time Track Champion and two-time State Champion, Larry was a master Go-Kart driver. An avid outdoorsman, Larry and his wife loved going camping and taking the boat out on the lake. Larry also enjoyed working in the yard and doing home projects.
He is survived by his daughters, Alissa Darlene Watkins, Dianne Duncan and husband, Shawn; son, Michael Roberts and wife, Bridget; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Shelton and husband, Ben, Chris Duncan and wife, Amanda, Josh Roberts and wife, Brittney, Amanda Linders and husband, Eric, Meaghan Frost and husband, Kylan, Brittany Gunn and husband, Spencer, Alana Kowalski and husband, Jacob, Whitney Jones, Jessica Roberts; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Hartsoe and husband, Harold, Patricia Houston and husband, Allan; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
