Larry Roger Ross

October 31, 1949 ~ September 9, 2025

Larry Roger Ross, 75, Gas City, passed away at 12:27 pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Monday, October 31, 1949, to Willis N. Ross and Marcella (Hamilton) Babb. On April 3, 1971, he married Barbara Diets.

Larry proudly served in the United States Army and spent 37 years in custodial services at Mississinewa Community Schools. A resident of Gas City since 1979, he also worked at Hawkins Ford and Southworth Ford, earning respect for his skill and dedication. Married for 54 years, Larry was a devoted husband and a proud Vietnam veteran-often seen dressed in tribute to his service. He was a passionate advocate for veterans' rights, a talented handyman, and a lifelong fan of The Three Stooges, whose humor reflected his own. Those who knew Larry will remember his loyalty, his laughter, and the quiet pride he carried in all he did.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Barbara Ross of Gas City; son, Larry Wayne (Tina) Ross of Marion; brother, Ronnie (Sue) Ross of FL; sister, Gloria Ross of Marion; brothers-in-law, Arthur Samuel (Rebecca) Diets, Jr., of Tipton, Terry Diets of Fowlerton; grandchildren, Tommy (Ann) Haechten, Shirley (Eric) Manning; and great grandchildren, William, Amberle, Rhaenyra, Iva, Carter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis N. Ross and Marcella B. Babb; daughter, Patricia Ann Ross; and son, Patrick Lee Ross.

The family will receive visitors from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Larry's life will begin at 12:30 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
